Vision

The mission of Alternate Avenues is to foster a Christ-like view of human life and sexuality by offering hope and compassionate help, thus enabling positive, life-affirming choices by:

  • Saving the lives of unborn children.
  • Providing physical, emotional, and spiritual help for women and men with unplanned pregnancies.
  • Offering support and healing to victims of past abortions.
  • Preventing crisis pregnancies through abstinence education.
  • Providing education to the community on issues regarding the Sanctity of Human Life.

Mission

Prevent the destruction of unborn life while providing hope and healing to those affected by abortion.

Core Values

Our core values are derived from a commitment to the person and example of Jesus Christ. We believe that ultimate hope and life is found only in Him.

  1. We value all life. From each unborn child, to the mother, to all with whom we come into contact, life is valuable to us. We believe there is always a life affirming choice, and that there is always a better alternative than abortion. Therefore we never counsel for abortion. And, we value all life -- including those with opposing views.
  2. We believe in the power of God to answer prayer and acknowledge that only the Holy Spirit can change a heart.
  3. We are committed to the truth. We are honest and truthful in all of our dealings with all those with whom we come in contact. (Being honest means that we even share with our clients that are facing unplanned pregnancies that they have three legal choices, including abortion. We do not hide the truth.)
  4. We treat all people with compassion and mercy. (For example, in working with our clients, we provide practical help to them in a compassionate manner.)
  5. We are committed to unconditional love. From the babies to the mothers and fathers, to those needing our post-abortion ministries, to our own staff and volunteers, we are committed to loving them unconditionally.
  6. We serve people. Whether these people are clients, volunteers, the community, or those on our staff, we believe in people and invest in them and serve them in practical ways.
  7. We offer hope and a vision for a better future. We accomplish this through working with teen moms, dealing with people needing post-abortion ministry, and educating teens regarding abstaining from pre-marital sexual relations.
  8. Sharing the gospel is a driving force behind our ministry. There are many people seeking fulfillment who have not yet found the love and grace found in Jesus Christ.
  9. We trust in the Lord. This is His ministry and we are co-workers in it with Him. His Holy Spirit will guide, convict, comfort, and empower. He is the God of the fatherless, poor, and needy. He will lead and bless us.
